Here are some thoughtful yet affordable ways to help movers get set up.

POP THE CORK: Find an offer on fizz. At Asda, Bollinger champagne has fallen from £46 to £38 and Asquith Gardens English sparkling wine from £18 to £16.
Tesco has Clubcard deals on Lanson Le Black Label Brut, now £28, down from £35, and Canti Pink Prosecco, reduced from £9 to £7.50.
TURN A NEW PAGE: At Sainsbury’s, the Green Plant Gift, featuring four plant varieties, is half price at £4.
For something that requires less maintenance, Aldi has a large fake Star succulent for £7.99.
TAKE THE PERFUME: All AromaWorks products are 25% off at Holland & Barrett, including a lavender and petitgrain candle, down from £13.49 to £10.99.
Tesco is offering a Clubcard deal on the Katie Piper Trio candle collection, at just £9, usually £18.
Or save even more by making your own. Melt wax flakes (a 1kg bag of soy wax flakes costs £10 at Hobbycraft) in a saucepan on the hob. Add a few drops of essential oil, such as jasmine or lavender (£8 for 50ml, also at Hobbycraft).
Attach a wick to the bottom of a glass jar, pour in the melted wax and let solidify. Tie twine around the jar and attach a tag with a personal message.
TREAT YOURSELF: A basket made with love is a great way to show you care. Include items such as tea, coffee, cookies, tea towels or air freshener.
Hobbycraft’s large brown wicker basket has been reduced from £16 to £10. Asda has a three for £5 deal on Febreze products.
KNOW THE DRILL: Look for a deal on DIY tools. Rolson’s 30-piece tool kit is half price at Robert Dyas, £24.99.
GIVE A COMMITMENT: Instead of adding to the piles of things they have to unpack, why not offer to help decorate or mow the lawn?
