Shiad has a part-time job alongside her studies. “I know my savings aren’t too much at the moment, but I plan to have my own house in the next 10 years hopefully,” he shared with Us.

Like Shiad, we all want to have our own home and decorate different corners of it in our artistic way. Whether it’s painting the bedroom walls with our favorite colors or having plants on the balcony, we try to add magic by showcasing our talent throughout the home.

Even if we don’t own a property, we dream of doing it. Rented or not, we consider the house as our own and we decorate it as we wish.

Inspired by this thought, Bangladesh Finance and The Business Standard organized Amar Shajano Ghor, an exclusive campaign. Participants were asked to share a photo of a favorite place in their home, which they decorated themselves and reflecting their personality and efforts.

The campaign was open to everyone and from November 2021 it lasted for about a month. More than 200 photos were submitted from which the five best photos were selected by the judges.

The top five submissions received special gift baskets at a closing ceremony held at The Business Standard in February.

One of the winners mentioned: “I took part in this campaign only because I wanted to share the reasons why I decorated my room this way. Then I received a phone call and I found out I was one of the winners!”

After receiving such a response and a large number of submissions, The Business Standard and Bangladesh Finance plan to hold other versions of the campaign in the future.
