Her Majesty turns 70

The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee is upon us – and some people have gone above and beyond with decorations as they prepare for a weekend of celebrations.

A shrewd Briton managed to merge the Queen with Sir Alex Ferguson in their office – claiming no one noticed.

A screenshot of a WhatsApp group chat from Reddit user Sankey2007 showed a message they sent to their friends, explaining what they had been up to.

“My office wants us to decorate our offices for the Jubilee. I have put pictures of the Queen’s face exchanged with Alex Ferguson. No one has noticed yet,” they wrote.

The hilarious act was a treat for people on social media, having been shared by @NoContextBrits, with many comments on Twitter about the genius.

One person wrote, “Would take me a long time to figure that out. Awesome.”

“I have to admit I didn’t notice,” wrote a second.

A third added: “To be honest, I’ve never seen them together in the same room…”

Another joked: “That’s when Liz cut off his head and stole his face.”

Their colleagues did not notice

The Queen was the one to knight Sir Alex in 1999.

“The Queen told me she didn’t think it would happen again and she’s right,” Sir Alex revealed afterwards.

“It’s such a proud moment for me, my family and for the club because it’s a team effort.” They also discussed their mutual love for horse racing.

The Queen celebrates her 70th year of reign this weekend.

She said: “Thank you to everyone who took part in bringing together communities, families, neighbors and friends to mark my Platinum Jubilee, in the UK and across the Commonwealth.

“I know that many happy memories will be created during these festive occasions.

“I continue to be inspired by the goodwill shown to me and hope that the next few days will be an opportunity to reflect on all that has been achieved over the past seventy years as we look to the future with confidence and enthusiasm.”
